Super Soaker — water blasters that keep summer soaked

We are Super Soaker. Since the first pressurized water blaster left the workshop in 1990, our job has been simple: put more water, farther, on more people. Here is our whole current lineup of Super Soaker water blasters — 51 of them — sorted the way you actually choose one: by how it fills and how it fires.

Super Soaker questions

Do they still make Super Soakers?

Yes. Super Soaker is part of the Nerf family at Hasbro, and every summer we add new water blasters. The current range includes Dunk-Fill blasters, pump-action classics, the retro XP air-pressure series, hose-pressurized Power Drench models and pool floats.

Who invented the Super Soaker?

The Super Soaker was created by engineer Lonnie Johnson, who built the first pressurized prototype in the early 1980s. It reached shelves in 1990 and took the Super Soaker name in 1991. The brand joined Hasbro and today sits alongside Nerf.

What is the most powerful Super Soaker water gun?

In the current lineup the Power Drench XL hits hardest: its tank is filled and pressurized by the garden hose, and it can release the whole tank in one flood. For long range from a hand pump, Barrage, FreezeFire 2.0, Rebelle Cascade and the Chewbacca Bowcaster all reach up to 38 feet.

Which Super Soaker has the largest water tank?

Barrage, with an 84 oz reservoir. Next come Zombie Strike Ripstorm at 50 oz, Twister at 37 oz and the Mega Dunk-Fill at 33.9 oz. Hose blasters and pool floats draw from an endless supply.

What age is a Super Soaker for?

Most of our water blasters are made for ages 6 and up; hose-pressurized Power Drench models are 8 and up. Sprinkler toys such as Hop & Chomp start at 3, and Stomp & Soak at 4.

Why was the Super Soaker CPS 2000 discontinued?

The CPS 2000 used a very powerful elastic-bladder pressure system from the late 1990s. It was retired long ago, and later models were re-tuned to keep the fun high while keeping the blast safe for backyard play.

Super Soaker water guns — the classic for water fun

Nothing says summer like a water fight, and nothing says water fight like a Super Soaker. We started with pressure: the original blasters stored air in a chamber and let it push water out in long, powerful streams of water, far beyond what a squirt gun could manage. That system made Super Soaker a household name and, in 2015, earned it a place in the Toy Hall of Fame.

Today our water blasters fill and fire in more ways than ever. Pumping a piston is still the classic, but Dunk-Fill tanks now refill in seconds, plunger blasters load straight from the pool, and the Power Drench fill station lets the garden hose pressurize the tank for you. We kept the bright colors and the big tanks; we just took out the waiting.

Water guns for the whole family — young and old

For small kids we suggest light, trigger-fired blasters with small water tanks, like the Mini Dunk-Fill or the Piranha, and sprinkler toys like Hop & Chomp. School-age players love the pump action of Twin Tide, Flip Fill or the Fortnite series. Teens and adults reach for range and capacity: Barrage, the XP air-pressure blasters and Power Drench XL.

Unlike a foam dart blaster, a water blaster needs no ammunition and no cleanup — just a bucket, a pool or a hose. Within seconds everyone is armed, and the activity keeps kids outside and moving on the hottest days of summer.

Pressure, valves and the ultimate soak

Every pressurized Super Soaker includes a relief valve that releases extra pressure if the chamber is over-pumped, so the system stays safe while still firing hard. Hose-charged models such as Power Drench rely on household water pressure instead, so check that your tap delivers at least 27 to 35 psi.

Whether you prefer the retro experience of the XP series, the fast refills of Dunk-Fill or the endless supply of a hose blaster, our lineup has a popular pick for every kind of water fight. Orders are handled by our partner store, where you will always see the current price.
